About

The NERL Consortium was formed in 1996 by 12 ARL member institutions for the purposes of collaborating on the subscription, purchase, and licensing of electronic content consistent with the member libraries' missions to support higher education and research.  Today, the group now consists of 28 core member institutions and 80+ affiliate member institutions.  For more information, see the History of NERL.
